On Sunday 24th June 86 eager beaver scouts arrived at Chalfont Heights campsite to join in with 800 other beaver scouts from across the county for a big fun day. The theme this year was countries, keeping in step with the Jamboree that is happening this summer to celebrate 100 years of scouting.
The weather was not kind to us and rained for most of the day. This did not dampen the spirits of the beaver scouts, there were plenty of smiley faces enjoying and exploring all the activities on site. There were bouncy castles, badge making, stocks and bottle rockets to name but a few.
Lunch was eaten in the training block so we were able to stay warm and dry.
Next the clowns put on a very good show with all types of juggling and even fire eating (Not to be tried at home!) The activities reopened at 1.30pm and off they went again. 2nd Uxbridge had stocks as a base, where leaders were very good sports and got a drenching from the beavers. A great day was had by all and the beavers went home with a pennant and a scout wrist band.
